For anyone that's every tried to make something of themselves, or had to pick up the pieces of their broken shell, or constantly had to battle just to make it through every day, Rachel Platten's new song is for you.

There are times in life where we battle constantly to follow a dream, be able to pay our bills, make our pain go away for a while, or make huge life changes. Her video shows her struggle to make it in the music business, but if you read the comments on this video's post on Youtube, it shows that it resonates with so many people out there who are suffering from depression, anxiety, pain, grief, bad decisions. It's amazing that people can write lyrics and perform them in a way that it cuts to people's hearts and connects with their feelings. I also thought of my battle with grief and depression, and how there were times where I never thought I'd be able to get a handle on it. It's amazing what time and drive can do for our problems.

When I heard it on the radio during my commute home last week, I downloaded it as soon as I got to a red light. I put it on repeat, and sang as loud as I could possibly get my voice to go. There comes a point in all of our lives where we have to fight to make the life we want for us. If you're there, and doing that, you might love this catchy tune. I love making playlists with music that pumps me up, and this has been added to my list!

I'll probably do a post soon with my actual motivational playlist. Stay tuned, but in the meantime, jam to this catchy pop song. It's a good one.
