Music for Joy: May You Stay Forever Young

Friday, February 27, 2015

Happy Friday! I thought we could go into the weekend on a great note, with a great song in our heads.

This is, in my opinion, one of the best Bob Dylan songs, and folk songs, about what he wishes for the best life. I wish this for all of you, and myself. I wish I could find the fast version from the Parenthood series opening credits, but unfortunately, it's no where to be found online. This is a beautiful cover from Iron and Wine, though. The lyrics are a beautiful prayer for a wonderful life.

May you love this song as much as I do, and may you all stay forever young.

Lyrics

May God bless and keep you always
May your wishes all come true
May you always do for others
And let others do for you
May you build a ladder to the stars
And climb on every rung
May you stay forever young.

May you grow up to be righteous
May you grow up to be true
May you always know the truth
And see the lights surrounding you
May you always be courageous
Stand upright and be strong
May you stay forever young.

May your hands always be busy
May your feet always be swift
May you have a strong foundation
When the winds of changes shift
May your heart always be joyful
And may your song always be sung
May you stay forever young.

May we all stay forever young.
